Overview The IT Development Department are responsible for a wide range of activities from requirements capture and analysis through to design, build and test. Working closely with IT Services/Production, the department is key to delivering business change safely and securely, at the same time supporting the longer terms goals of increased pace and responsiveness. This individual will initially be working as a software engineer, supporting and enhancing existing software components in connection with the Equities/Swaps/Forex business streams. However, the individual can also expect to move to other business streams as project priorities dictate. The role will provide exposure to all aspects of the project development lifecycle: requirements establishment, technical specification, coding, testing, implementation and post-implementation intra-day and overnight application support. The role would ultimately suit a flexible, bright individual who can think on their feet and who enjoys participation in multi-talented roles. This role will encompass implementing robust and high quality applications/transformations according to specification documents, ensuring solutions delivered exceed customer expectations within budget and timeline constraints, ensuring all implementations are thoroughly unit tested and implemented in accordance to the development process, to assist in the production of detailed technical design documentation and ensuring areas for componentization and reuse are highlighted. This role is for an XML / XSLT content developer – someone who is doing XML / XSLT full time not someone who is doing the role as a secondary skill.
